1. A question that I have our group discussion is, What were Leopold's feelings towards women and why were they the way they were?
2. The questions in our group we needed questions that were more open and less forced upon the text. We can improve by thinking more in depth about the questions we write and discuss.

KLG pg 1-32
I found the introduction to be very helpful, but also very boring. It was completely facts with a story here and there. I was tired when reading this, and it did not bring be in whatsoever. Once I got to the story of Stanley, I was much more interested. It was easier to follow what Stanley was doing and what was going on in his life. I feel like I got a very clear understanding of why Stanley was the way he was, and the right about of background to know why he would make such exaggerated stories. I also liked how he has a mystery about him in which many people were weary about him. When the British set out on their journey to find Livingstone and they ran into Stanley who had already accomplished this, made me think back to everything else I had read about Stanley and made me laugh. The story about Stanley and his character has been my favorite so far. I did not enjoy the story of the first slave trade in Africa with King Affonso because it was very confusing to me. He seemed to change his mind often, and there was little background on why.
Did King Affonso dislike or like the slave trade or did his opinion of it change over time?
Why did Stanley have such a problem with "Alice" but was so willing to marry Katie Gough-Roberts? What changed?

September 2nd, 2010 History Class
I learned today what imperialism and colonialism actually mean and how they are interchangeable. I learned about SPICER to think about the multiple ways an event in which an event can be examined.
I am curious to learn more about certain events that went on during this time of imperialism and colonization. I would also like to know more about what the people of Europe thought about the colonization and how it affected them.
